The Ultimate Facial Steamer 2020

Facial Steamer 2020

Facial Steamer In Spa or Home

In your mind, you’re at the spa, relaxing on the table as your aesthetician cleanses your skin. The facial has already started, and now it’s onto your favorite part — the facial steaming.

Then, of course, you snap out of your daydream and remember that, right now, most spas and salons have shut their doors for the foreseeable future. Still, you dream about that facial steamer — it could be a great at-home indulgence, you know.

Investing in a facial steamer is a great way to bring the spa into your home. Not only is it an at-home indulgence, but facial steaming does wonders for your skin, too. Here’s what you need to know about using your facial steamer at home.

Wash Your Face Beforehand and Remove Any Makeup

Your face must be clean and dry before using a facial steamer. This step will ensure that you experience the full effects of a professional facial steam.

So, start by making sure you have a proper makeup removal and cleansing routine. It may be an involved, multi-step regimen, but it’s worth it to keep your skin fresh and bright.

You’ll first want to wash your face with a makeup-removing cleanser and water. Avoid makeup wipes, as they’re not as effective as cleansing your skin. And make sure you check the cleanser’s ingredients list to ensure it has zero acne-causing ingredients.

If you want, you can use a cleanser that doesn’t remove makeup. Just swipe your face with micellar water or another efficient makeup remover, then wash.

As you cleanse, make sure you cover the entirety of your face. Use a headband to pull your hair back if necessary, so that you can reach your hairline. And pay extra care to your eyelid edges where mascara and eyeliner can linger.

Once you’ve removed cosmetics and other residues, your skin will be ready for a facial steaming session.

Fill The Tank With Distilled Water

Distilled water is steam from boiling water that’s been cooled and returned to its liquid state. Some people claim distilled water is the purest water you can drink.

All water — no matter if it comes from a natural spring, artesian well, or regular tap — may have trace but safe amounts of minerals, bacteria, pesticides, and other contaminants.

Distilling rids water of all those impurities. It also removes more than 99.9% of the minerals dissolved in water.

Steaming should come after cleansing in your skincare regimen. But don’t just fill up the basin with water from your sink — make sure to use distilled water in your facial steamer.

There are two major reasons why you’d use purified, distilled water. Your tap water contains minerals, which you’ll steam onto your face if you use it in this way. These same minerals can clog your machine over time, too.

So, pick up a jug of distilled water, which is rigorously boiled before bottling. You can also invest in an at-home distiller if you always want purified H2O on hand.

Use With Compatible Products

As previously mentioned, facial steaming should come second in your skincare routine, just after you cleanse.

But what comes after you steam your face? The warm, moisturized air encourages pores to open. This effect prepares your skin for even deeper cleansing afterward.

So, after steaming, you can choose a few different routes that’ll take advantage of your opened pores. . You can also use a mask next, which will further draw impurities from the pores. Clay’s the best ingredient for this task, as it removes the residue that could be enlarging your pores.

Steaming makes your face uber-receptive to a serum, too. And always finish with a moisturizer to quench and plump up the skin after you use your professional facial steamer.

How Long To Use a Facial Steamer

Figuring out how to steam your face will require some testing on your part. Everyone’s skin is different — some can tolerate more steam than others.

So, the first time you steam, situate yourself 8 to 12 inches from the steam. Sit there for two minutes, then check your skin in the mirror. If it feels okay, then steam for up to 9 minutes, stopping if it starts to irritate your visage.

Of course, your steamer will come with instructions and time parameters, too. . Depending on the device you use, be sure to read the instructions carefully.

Facial Steamer Routine

As good as it may feel, it is not best practice to use a facial steamer every day. It can do more harm than good, irritating your skin if you use it too often.

So, start slowly with one session per week, then see if you can bump it up to two weekly steams. Experts recommend only one to two facial steams every seven days, too.

Facial Steamer Benefit

There are so many benefits to using a facial steamer. Let’s start with the skin-related pros first.

Steam not only cleanses skin but hydrates at the same time. The warmth makes you sweat a bit, too, which increases your circulation. This effect gives you a healthy glow post-steam.

A professional facial steamer can pull sebum, a naturally occurring oil, from your pores. Sebum keeps skin and hair hydrated, but if it gets trapped, it causes blackheads. Your steamer will help you remove sebum from where it shouldn’t be, clearing up your pores.

After you steam, your pores open up, which makes them so much more receptive to your other products. If you really want to see the effects of your serum or moisturizer, steam your skin first.

On top of all of the skin-related benefits, a facial steamer can save you money. You won’t need to get facials as often if you can replicate the process at home. Your steamer can help you with that.

Bring the Spa Home With a Facial Steamer

When you’re stuck at home and can’t make it to your favorite local spa, the Facial Steamer can give you that facial experience without leaving the house. And, as you now know, steaming has so many benefits to better your skin, too.

Conclusion

It’s because steaming your face helps to soften the oil and dirt inside your pores or we can said facial steamer for acne solution which makes it super easy to extract blackheads and unclog your pores. Also, when you heat up your skin, it becomes more receptive to whatever ingredients you apply on top, making your serums and moisturizers more effective.

HOW TO CLEAN FACIAL STEAMER

Daily
Empty jar and let dry
Clean rubber seal around rim
Use fresh distilled water for each client
Before your first client, turn steamer on to warm up. This will save valuable time once you begin your first appointment!
Disinfect the body of your steamer daily – paying close attention to the parts you touch most often (controls, steamer arm, etc.)!

Monthly Cleaning to Demineralize Steamer
Add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar to the glass jar, and fill with distilled water. If there is noticeable mineral build-up, you may increase the amount of vinegar used.
Turn on the steamer. Allow to heat to steaming temperature.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN ON FACIAL STEAMER WITH OZONE OR ANY OTHER STEAMER COMPONENT!*

Let steamer steam for 3-5 minutes, then turn off. Let steamer rest for about 30 minutes, until jar is cool to the touch.
Wipe down the heating element and exposed metal surfaces with a clean cloth, removing mineral deposits and build-ups.
Empty jar and refill with clean distilled water. Steam again for 3-5 minutes, turn off, and allow steamer to rest again for about 30 minutes.
Repeat step 4, checking to see if the vinegar smell has dissipated. If it has not, continue repeating step 4 until you no longer smell vinegar.

Important Pro Tips:
Unless otherwise instructed by the manufacturer, always use distilled water in your steamer. This will minimize mineral buildup and prolong the life of the steamer.
Do not leave water in steamer overnight. Always empty and dry jar at the end of the day.
Never put essential oils or herbs directly in the steamer water. This can cause spitting and possible steamer malfunction.

Never leave vinegar solution in jar longer than 1 hour – doing so can corrode heating coils.
Remember, vinegar has quite the pungent smell – we recommend performing this cleaning process after hours when there are no clients in your spa. In addition, you might want to avoid running the vinegar solution through your steamer in your treatment room – a utility room or other space clients do not visit might be best.

More advice

First of all, never put facial steamer essential oils or herbs directly into the water. Doing so can immediately impact the life and overall performance of the facial steamer. When dropped into a closed jar with boiling water, essential oils can cause spitting of water, clog the steamer or even break the jar from the pressure. Please read instruction if Facial Steamer can add with essential oil/herb.

You can put a few drops of essential oils on your hands or a cotton pad and hold it close to the steamer for aromatherapy. If aromatherapy is a part of your facial steaming treatments, make sure to purchase one designed for essential oils.

This is a pretty nice facial steamer. It came with the tools I usually use on my acne, a nice cover for the steam mouth, a headband to hold my hair back and a tank that looks close to 1 cup of water.

It had a nice stream of steam throughout use which lasted about 10 minutes or so and really opened my pores for my weekly facial. My skin felt refreshed and no burning as long as you follow the instructions and dont get super close to the steamer while its working. Bonus facial steamer for sinus that it loosened my sinuses.

As I do my facial by myself, I was in search of a personal facial steamer & bought this. This comes with a head band & blackhead removers which is great for a home facial. It’s very easy to use if you skim through the user manual before your first experience. There’s a self automatic switch off facility that helps to prevent your face from excessive steam burn. As a beautician, I strongly recommend this facial steamer at home but not for professional salon facials.
